• The Devon Legion Branch No.247 donated a commemorative plaque to the Devon Historical Society from the Devon Legion's artifact archives regarding the 1979 Devon Ambulance. Presenting the commemorative plaque to the DHS President Ken Fisher (L) is the Devon Legion Branch Historian Brian Morris (R). During this period of operation, the Devon Legion continued to support the ambulance service with additional contributions to keep the ambulance equipped and in good order.  The 1951 Pontiac ambulance was originally purchased by Imperial Oil Limited in new condition from the Canadian Armed Forces military surplus and used by IOL until 1954 when it was turned over to the Town of Devon for $1.00. The 1951 ambulance was used in part as a trade in on the purchase of the near new 1979 Crestline Chevrolet ambulance. The commemorative plaque was presented to the Devon Legion in 1989 when the 1979 ambulance was retired - October 3, 2021.
